Nothing kick-starts the day better than a top notch breakfast made from quality pork products
Whether it’s a traditional and hearty cooked affair or a lighter option that is what you get from the owners of one Herefordshire guest house who were awarded the ‘Breakfast of the Year’ accolade at the Flavours of Herefordshire Awards 2008.
Debbie and Craig Fraser of Walford, Leintwardine were one of 14 category winners at the awards, which recognise businesses that make every effort to source local produce and then use it to create imaginative menus that reflect the distinctive cuisine of the region.
The couple offer a substantial breakfast menu complete with an array of seasonal and home grown produce, including local butchers home cured bacon, award winning sausages, eggs laid by their own hens and home-made preserves.
A delighted Debbie and Craig were presented with their award from the Hairy Bikers, but also received a sausage making machine by the Breakfast award sponsor, BPEX.
Handing over the prize, Tony Goodger BPEX foodservice trade manager, said: “When catering for overnight guests, nothing leaves a better lasting impression than a satisfying, tasty and memorable breakfast and using good quality sausages and bacon is key to this. Overall, Debbie and Craig’s breakfast offering is second to none and really gives guests a flavour of the region.”
